Death has the earned the reputation as mankind's greatest enemy because it has the ability to snatch our dear loved ones even without a moment's notice.. Please accept my sympathy for your immeasurable loss. However, may you find comfort in reflecting on the man, Kirkland Mead, on his accomplishments and the fond memories shared.. The pain, grief, and feelings of helplessness that we experience when a loved dies, can sometimes seem unbearable and words can be of little comfort. However, there are words of comfort as no other words can and these are words from the Giver of Life our Creator. So that the gift of life will not be wasted, He has promised to restore life to our dear loved ones. The Bible verse at Isaiah 26:19 states "Your dead will live again. My corpses will rise up. Awake and shout joyfully, you residents in the dust. For your dew is as the dew of the morning. And the earth will let those powerless in death come to life." Over time, may these words offer a measure of comfort. God has the victory over death . Our loved ones will live again when the world is made new and the Paradise that was lost is restored. (Luke 23:43).

Dear Susan
I had the pleasure and privilege to work with Kirt at CSC Index in Europe for over 10 years between 1989 and 1999. He was an inspirational mentor, always encouraging you to be the best you could be for clients. He had an intellect the size of a planet, a true polymath, a fantastic linguist; a thought-leader and a rain-maker. Clients loved his provocative and iconoclastic approach - accepting the status quo was not for Kirt. We are deeply saddened at his untimely departure - however, his influence on clients and hundreds of professional colleagues worldwide will never be forgotten. Our lives were touched for the better for his being with us. With our kindest regards and sincere condolences at this time.

Susan:
I cannot find the words to express how much his departure affects me, and I cannot even imagine how difficult it must be for you and the family. I had the great pleasure of knowing him for over 25 years, and in the past four years enjoyed his company immensely. Life will not be the same for any of us, because he was such a vital force, or as he would say an Elan Vital, and such a joy to be around. We would have been rich having spent only one day with them, and just think how lucky we were to have had decades.
Please accept our deepest condolences and sympathies. Wishing you all the best, Lem & Karul Lasher

Dear Susan,
I was shocked and saddened to hear of the loss of Kirt. I always enjoyed seeing him. He always made a point to come by at every Boatshow and say hi. It brightened my day each time. I last saw Kurt in September at Newport. I missed seeing you. I can’t imagine your grief at this sad time. Please know that my thoughts are with you. God bless you.

We are very sorry to hear such sad news. I (David) as a member of The Corinthians, and my wife, (Alice) have been beneficiaries of Kirt and Susan's hospitality at their home in Marion for many years. Kirt always looked as if he would live forever. He will be sorely missed by all of us.

I am very sorry to hear of your family’s loss. I worked for Kirt on a number of projects while I was employed at CSC Index. Kirt was one of the most intelligent people I ever have had the pleasure to work with. He always motivated his staff to do their best and I’ll share a funny story with you. Kirt approved me buying World Series tickets for our client, Elf Atohcme, in Philadelphia in 1993. Kirt attended the game with the CEO, CFO (Doug Cox) and our project sponsor Larry Farmer. The following day with a cup of coffee in his hand and blood shot eyes he whispered to me before our 8AM meeting: “Henry, when you get tickets to the longest game in baseball history (26 innings) please make sure the home team wins next time”!! Classic Kirt sense of humor !! I learned many things from Kirt and marveled at how he could switch from English to French to German so effortlessly. You will be dearly missed Kirt, and know you lived a life that was worthy and filled with an appreciation that the world is an adventure waiting for anyone with the courage like you had to explore. Death is really life’s biggest adventure and I wish you good travels to your next conquests Kirt.
