Anna Massarotti

Massarotti, Anna, 79, of Waltham, passed away peacefully, September 10, surrounded by her loving family in her treasured home. She was born in Roccacaramanico, Italy, a small village high in the mountains of the Abruzzo region, the only child of Antonio and Adelina Massarotti, amongst a large and loving extended family. For over 62 years, she was the adored, beloved wife of Ezio, her tremendously caring husband, with whom she built a strong, loving and devoted marriage and family. She immigrated to Cambridge, MA in 1958, and loved America from the moment she arrived. She was the loving and proud mother of Elena of Boston, Norma and husband Maurizio Contini of Belmont, and Anthony and wife Natalie of Sudbury. She was the adoring Nonna to Julia Contini, Alex and Xavier Massarotti and Paul Contini (deceased). Also survived by many loving and devoted relatives in the US and Australia. Her loss will leave an enormous void, and she will be remembered for her unwavering devotion and love to her family and friends, remarkable strength, keen intelligence,and appreciation for her life. She was a good, kind, and generous woman who gave to all those around her up until her death. Funeral Mass at Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church on 920 Trapelo Road in Waltham on Thursday September 14 at 10 AM, preceded by visitation at the church from 9 to 10 AM. Internment at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge immediately following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Cardiovascular Center at Tufts Medical Center, 800 Washington Street in Boston, where she received expert clinical care from many doctors and nurses for over 23 years.
