Walter E. Grignon passed away peacefully at home on July 16, 2025 after a lengthy illness, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Nancy (Uglietto) Grignon. Loving father of Charles Anthony Grignon of Belmont. Brother of Robert Grignon and his wife Peg of Avon Lake, Ohio. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters in law, Paula and Charles Alden, Charles and Robin Uglietto, Elena and Terrance Leahy, and many loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Walter proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1964-1966. Following his military service he dedicated 30 years to the restaurant industry, working for the Ritz corporation, private country clubs, and finally opening Three Cheers in Boston. He then committed 25 years to Cubby Oil & Energy before retiring. Walter found great joy being with family and friends, traveling, and whenever you were looking for him you could find him outside working in his yard that he took great pride in. Walter will be remembered as a wonderful human being with many talents, a great personality, always dignified, and impeccably dressed.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to visit in the Brown & Hickey Funeral Home, 36 Trapelo Rd, Belmont, on Friday July 25th from 4:00 - 6:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 130 Common St., Belmont, Saturday July 26th, at 10:00 AM. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Mt Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Walter, may be made to the VA Bedford Health Care, 200 Springs Road Bedford MA, 01730-1114.
