Thomas J. Shaughnessy

Thomas Shaughnessy of Sebastian FL, formerly of Belmont & Watertown MA, passed away on July 8th 2025. Loving father of Brianna Shaughnessy and Joseph Shaughnessy of Dorchester. Brother of Carol Shaughnessy of Tucson, AZ. Longtime companion and fiancé of Helen Talbot of Sebastian FL, formerly of Wakefield, MA. Uncle of Alexandra Quinn of Atlanta, GA.

Predeceased by parents Joseph and Mary Shaughnessy of Belmont, MA, twin brother Richard (Dick) Shaughnessy, and sister Maureen Shaughnessy.

Tom will be remembered as a loving father, partner, sibling, uncle, and friend. Tom spent his youth in Belmont evading trouble with his friends and brother, while spending summers with his family in Rockport, MA. Tom spent most of his young adulthood traveling the world as an IT Specialist before becoming a father. He enjoyed fishing, napping by his pool, cigars, and would consistently support his Boston Bruins. Tom had a passion for classic cars, both restoring and driving. He enjoyed weekends camping while laughing with friends and family around the grill or campfire.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to visit in the Brown & Hickey Funeral Home, 36 Trapelo Rd., Belmont, on Thursday August 7th from 5:00 – 7:00 PM. Burial will be private.
