Susan (Lucreziano) Magliozzi January 27, 1938 – January 31, 2025
It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Susan (Lucreziano) Magliozzi, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Born on January 27, 1938, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Susan lived a life filled with kindness, music, and a devotion to her family and community.
For 66 years, Susan was the cherished wife of Val Magliozzi. Together, they raised a loving family in Belmont, where Susan spent the first 40 years of her marriage before moving to Burlington, where she and Val made their home for the last 25 years.
Susan was a graduate of Somerville High School, Class of 1955, and worked in various roles that touched many lives, including at Northeast Airlines, Val’s Custom Upholstery, Filene’s of Belmont, and Foster’s Flowers of Belmont . But it was her passion for music and her deep commitment to others that defined her life.
An active member of Maria Montessori, Susan’s love for music was a constant throughout her life. She spent countless hours singing and playing the piano, performing in musical events, and sharing her gift of music with others. Susan’s piano playing was a source of comfort and joy to all who heard it, particularly during her volunteer work at the Burlington Senior Center, where she organized Club 50 singalongs and Christmas performances for residents of local assisted living facilities.
Susan’s legacy of kindness extended far beyond her music. She was an exceptional cook, baker, and entertainer, always eager to share meals, laughter, and love with her family and friends.
Her family meant everything to her. She is survived by her daughter Donna Nadir and her husband Glen, son Kenneth Magliozzi and his wife Helen, and son Richard Magliozzi and his wife Sharon. Susan is also survived by eight grandchildren—Matthew, Corey, Nicholas, Brady, Carlee, Kayla, Peter, and Randy—and seven great-grandchildren, all of whom were a source of immense pride and joy to her.
Susan was the daughter of the late Espedito and Mary Lucreziano and the sister of Jean Coffin and the late Josephine Lucreziano, Salvatore Lucreziano.
Her music provided comfort to countless people, especially in her final years. During those challenging times in the nursing home, her deep love for music helped her persevere, while also offering solace and joy to fellow patients facing similar struggles.
Susan’s boundless love for her family, her joy in the holidays, and her deep commitment to sharing her musical gift with others will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her presence in this world was a gift—one that will never be forgotten.
A funeral mass will be celebrated in St Margaret Church 111 Winn Street Burlington on Thursday Feb. 6th at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington.
