Silvio Vito DiGiovanni "Skippy" A lifetime Belmont resident passed away peacefully at his home at the age of ninety six. He was born April 28th 1927, to Antonio and Carmella. Loving husband of 71 years to his wife Norma (Taylor). Dear and devoted father of, Lisa Rockhill of Dennis Port, Sandra DiGiovanni South Yarmouth, Laurie Grosse (Mark) Belmont, Julie Walker (George)The Villages Florida and Gail DiGiovanni. Loving father of the late Cheryl DiGiovanni and Linda. Beloved grandfather to nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Brother of Anna McGuire and the late Louis, Anthony, Vincent, Charles, Rocco, Joseph, Guy and Mary Destefano. Skippy was the epitome of hard work, he lived his life creating a world for his family and friends doing it his way, by hand in person with grit and determination. The world he created touched so many in so many ways. He will be greatly missed.
A funeral mass will be celebrated in St Joseph Church 128 Common Street Belmont on Thursday June 29th at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours in the Brown & Hickey Funeral Home 36 Trapelo Road Belmont on Wednesday from 4:00 - 7:00 PM. Interment Belmont Cemetery, Belmont. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St Jude Place Memphis TN 38105.
