Shirley (Woods) Stahl

Shirley Stahl 77, beloved wife. mother and cousin, passed away on May 20, 2024 after several years of illness. Shirley was born on March 1st, 1947 in Amherst, Nova Scotia, Canada. She came to the United States when she was 9 years old to live with her Aunt and Uncle, Maude and Val Page in Wrentham, Mass.  

Shirley and her late husband Raymond H. Stahl were married for 29 yrs.  They raised their daughters in Wayland Mass, spent summers in Wells, ME with her many nieces and nephews, and time with her beloved cousin Norma Ross Casey and her family on Cape Cod.  

Shirley loved photography, especially capturing priceless memories at family events, she loved throwing great parties, baking her famous cookies and was happiest when she was with her family and friends. She also took great pride in her successful career as an executive assistant where she made many lifelong friends.

She is survived by her daughters Stephanie Stanton (Spouse James Stanton) and Kristin Stahl.  Shirley is also survived by her cousins whom she was very close to, her dear friends and nieces and nephews.

Our family would like to express their gratitude to the caretakers who helped us in Shirley's final years: first, Nicole Kanelos and the whole team from Artis of Lexington, and then Caitlyn Finnegan, Ashley Keaton and the rest of the team from Beth Israel Lahey hospice.

A visitation will be held in the Brown & Hickey Funeral Home 36 Trapelo Road Belmont on Thursday June 27th from 4:00 - 6:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:30 PM. Relatives and friends invited.
