Peter Spear 

February 28, 1942 - August 21, 2025

Peter Christopher Spear of Belmont died Thursday, August 21, 2025, surrounded by family. He was eighty-three. Born in Massachusetts on February 28, 1942, he was the son of the late Roy and Phyllis (Mosley) Spear.  He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and uncle.

Beloved husband of the late Marie Spear for 52 years. Survived by son Christopher Spear fiance Rachael Greeley and her children Aidan and Jacob of Lincolnville, Maine; daughter Caroline Curry and granddaughter Bridget of Belmont. He is pre-deceased by his brother Samuel Spear of Melrose, New York.

Peter lived a life rooted in love, family, work, and quiet adventure. He worked for Polaroid for over 40 years as a senior technical specialist and met many wonderful friends there. Peter was excited about his work and it allowed him to travel, which he took great joy in. He had a passion for photography, he loved capturing unique people and places. Peter found great happiness in the moments that mattered most — cherishing sweet moments with his wife, raising his children with care, and working tirelessly to provide a good life. He was known for his hearty laugh and sweet smile, which brought joy to those around him.

He was the kind of father who believed memories were built, not bought. Weekends and vacation weeks were often spent sailing in Buzzards Bay, camping beneath the stars, or exploring museums. Whether navigating a boat or guiding his children through life, he did so with steady hands and a full heart. 

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Saturday, September 27th from 12:30-1:30, with a tribute and prayer at 1:30 at Brown & Hickey Funeral Home, 36 Trapelo Road in Belmont.
