Paula was born in Cambridge, MA, 70 years ago. She was a lifelong resident of Cambridge until recently when she and her husband Paul moved to her other love, York, ME. During her early years as mother of three boys, she was very active in supporting the Cambridge Pop Warner Youth Football teams raising funds for the teams and also supporting the Friends of Cambridge Athletics.
Paula was a career long Registered Nurse. Her last position on the Child Assessment Unit at the Cambridge Health Alliance was one of her favorites as was her Instructor position in the Health Careers Program at Cambridge Rindge & Latin School. Working with children and adolescents was most fulfilling for her. In prior years, she worked at Neville Manor and Dana Hill Nursing Home as a supervisor of nursing.
York Beach was Paula’s happy place. With a book in her hand, sitting in a circle with family and friends, the people she loved the most. She was also the organizer of the various BBQ’s and parties that always made a visit to York so much fun for everyone.
In Cambridge she was the organizer of family celebrations, holidays and her infamous Halloween parties. Holiday parties included family and friends and often guests too far from their families and welcomed into hers.
She was a devout Catholic and served as a Eucharistic Minister at St Mary’s in Cambridge for many years. Paula, with the biggest heart, will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
