Obituary

Paul G. Nickerson of Chatham, formerly of Concord and Cambridge, on August 14th 2023. Beloved husband of Deborah (Rivard) Nickerson. Loving father of Maggie Nickerson. Devoted brother of Julie Garrity and her husband Mike Garrity, Palissa Little and her husband Mike Little, John Nickerson and his wife Sheila Nickerson and Kevin Nickerson and his wife Theresa Nickerson. Proud uncle of Kelly Little and girlfriend Catherine Jordan, Johnny Little, Molly Garrity, Brady Garrity, Shauna Nickerson, Kevin Nickerson, Mathew Nickerson and Madison Nickerson.

Paul passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side, as he wanted. He lived a life rich with community, friends, and family always around him. Paul was born and raised in Cambridge MA. Through childhood and into adulthood he lived and breathed baseball. He left quite the legacy at Northeastern University, pitching for the Huskies. But the most important thing to Paul was his family. Starting from when he was a high schooler sharing a bedroom with his youngest sister and grandmother to his later years as a father and husband, family was his number one concern. One of his greatest pleasures in life was watching his daughter run in high school and college, and he made infamous fruit salads for the teams. Before his retirement to Chatham Cape Cod, he ran a successful painting contracting business, which led him to be an integral part of his community and the Lions Club. As the heart of the family, his dream was to establish a place for everyone to come laugh, celebrate, and be together, preferably on the water. That dream came true with the house he and his wife bought on the Cape, better known as “Paul’s Place”.
