Monica M. Gura of Peabody, Massachusetts passed away peacefully on Monday, March 24,2025. She was the beloved daughter of Anna Marie (Lucas) and John M Gura. Born on January 31st 1933 in Struthers, Ohio, she was one of 14 children. She was a member of Holy Trinity Church in Struthers where she also attended grade school. At the age of 13, Monica entered the convent, Daughters of St. Paul, with her twin sister (Marian) where she served for 33 years. After leaving the convent, Monica worked in Pittsburgh, only to return to the Boston area to be near her twin sister, Marian. Monica so loved her large family and would talk to everyone about them and tell stories of the times growing up in Struthers. While at the Jeffery & Susan Brundick Center, she would always boast about how large and loving her family was. She is survived by sister Ann Marie Fabilli, brother James Gura, and caregiver and niece Fran Warino plus numerous nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews and extended family. Monica was preceded in death by her mother, father, and siblings John, Julia, Helen, Peter, Emil, Larry, Regina, Felicitas (Fel), Norman, her twin sister Marian and Kathleen.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Eulalia Church, 50 Ridge St., Winchester, MA, on Saturday, March 29th, at 9:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
