Merrill Barnes, of Belmont, MA, passed away unexpectedly in Salt Lake City, Utah on March 11, 2023. Merrill was born on January 9, 2001 in Provo, Utah to Jesse and Laura Barnes, and was a beloved older brother to Elijah, Alden, Henry, and Calvin Barnes. His family is devastated to lose him at the young age of 22.
Merrill was a student at the University of Utah who loved the outdoors, video games, and hanging out with friends. He was honest, authentic, and more than anything, unafraid to live his life. He loved the mountains of Utah where he skied every moment he could and explored on foot when the snow was gone.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 18th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 15 Ledgewood Place in Belmont at 10:00AM. Those who cannot attend in person can view a broadcast of the service here: https://zoom.us/j/92662374301
