Marion Holland Obituary November 25, 1940- January 3, 2025

Marion E. Holland, 84, of Cambridge MA, passed away Friday, January 3, 2025. Born in Cambridge MA, Marion was a graduate of Matignon High School in Cambridge MA and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cardinal Cushing College in Brookline MA. She enjoyed a variety of different careers. She had a special love for teaching high school English. In her youth, she embraced travel; venturing worldwide, as far as India, Israel, Italy, Greece, England, and Ireland. An avid reader, Marion spent many days visiting local libraries and sharing books with family members. Later in life, Marion developed a love for running, especially around Fresh Pond, which she continued into her eighties, winning several races within her age division. She enjoyed many summers with her family at Crescent Beach in Mattapoisett MA.

She is survived by two brothers, Chris and his wife, Julie, Joe and his wife, Karen, a sister, Barbara and her husband, Denis, and a sister-in-law, Nancy, wife of her deceased brother, John. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Christy, Michael, Laura, Joseph, Judith, Jay, Jeff, Kara, Christopher, Kirstin and Katie, and many grandnieces and grandnephews. Marion will be missed by all. She was preceded in death by her parents Christy, Sarah and Theresa, her sister, Ann, Ann’s husband Joe, and her brother, John.

A private Celebration of Life will be held with immediate family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society.
