Lyla Jean Toland

Lyla Jean Toland, born on June 28, 2021, aged 13 days, gently passed away in her parents’ arms at Boston Children’s Hospital in Boston, MA on July 11, 2021. 

Lyla is the daughter of Owen and Heather Toland of Belmont MA. They joyfully expected her arrival and during Lyla’s short time on earth she touched everyone she met.She loved her mom to read her stories, being held and talked to by her dad, being cuddled by her grandparents, and getting hugs and kisses from her aunts and uncles. She made a lasting impact on everyone in her life. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed. 

In addition to her parents, Lyla is survived by, her maternal grandparents William and Susan Mulford, and paternal grandparents Owen and Carol Toland, her aunts and uncles Hayley, Eric, and Jen Mulford and Julie and Jack Toland, and numerous other relatives and friends, all who loved Lyla very much. 

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at the NICU in Boston Children’s Hospital who provided incredible care to Lyla and the entire family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lyla’s name to the NICU at Boston Children’s Hospital, 300 Longwood Ave, Boston MA or online at https://secure.childrenshospital.org/site/Donation2?df_id=1940&1940.donation=form1&s_GIFT_DESIGNATION_SELECTED=1463  which will provide financial support to families in need with children in the NICU. 

A private service will be held for the family.
