Louis Auerbach Obituary

Louis (Lou) Harry Auerbach, 70 of Belmont, MA passed on Wednesday August 28th, 2024 at Massachusetts General Hospital surrounded by his family. Lou was born in Mineola, NY on March 22, 1954. He was the son of Joseph Auerbach and Leah (Kulik) Auerbach.

Lou spent his early years in Huntington Station, New York and moved to Boston to attend college. He attended Northeastern University and worked for many years as a Software/Quality engineer in the Boston area for numerous companies: Apollo Computers, Lotus, Hewlett Packard, ATG and he retired from Oracle Corporation in Cambridge, MA.

Lou had a love for life and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed traveling, listening to music, building electronics, and great food. He looked forward to summers on Cape Cod and his time in upstate New York. Friends and family will always remember Lou for his warm smile, patience, generosity, courage, wonderful sense of humor, and kindness to others.

Lou was a husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, and his legacy will carry on through the lives of everyone that he touched. Lou leaves behind his loving wife Kathleen who he married on December 8th ,1999. His daughter Jessica who he adored. Two sisters, Fran Rubin, and her husband Robert of Bethesda Maryland; and Marla Dallal of New York City. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Lou was the love of our life and will be in our hearts forever.

Lou was incredibly grateful to the dedicated doctors, nurses, and staff at MGH who helped him over the many years of his illness. There will be a graveside funeral at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge MA on Monday October 28th at 11am. Following the service, a reception will occur at the family home.
