Obituary

Joseph S. Lynch, 88, of Medford, unexpectedly on September 2, 2023. He was born in Somerville, June 2, 1935, a son of the late John S. and Agnes Silva Lynch. He was educated in Charlestown Schools and further graduated from Boston University. his life was dedicated to the young boys and girls of the Charlestown Boys' Club, So. Boston Boys' Club, Boston School System and Hayden Recreation Centre in the areas of swimming, diving, scuba, WSI and CPR.

He was the beloved partner and spouse of James W. Widor for 49 years.

He was predeceased by his parents and also by his sister and best friend, Rita Lynch Hanlon.

In addition to his spouse, Jim, he is survived by his nieces and nephews Donna Pariseau of Florida and Colorado, Kathy Buckley of Salem, N.H., Janice Vitello of Winchester, Rita Cullen of Wakefield, Edward Hanlon of Wells, ME. Kevin Hanlon of Somerville and Joseph Hanlon along with many great and great-great nieces and nephews. Also he is survived by brother-in-law Alan J. Widor of Westbrook, ME. and sister-in-law Marilyn Widor Hutchinson of Augusta, ME.

In keeping with Joe's wishes, there will be no formal services. To honor Joe's memory, remember to hug your loved ones and tell them how much they are loved.
