Joseph Michael Doherty, 87, a lifelong resident of Cambridge, February 10, 2025. Beloved son of the late Delia and Michael Doherty. Survived by his devoted sister, Virginia Doherty. Though he did not have children of his own, Joe was blessed with the love and support of his extended family of nieces: Kathleen (Chris) Garvin, Kristen (Jeff) Durand, Goddaughter Maureen (Michael) DeLeo, Coleen Doherty & Susan Doherty, and nephews: Robert (Amy) Goulet Jr., Mark (Zack) Goulet, and Tom Doherty. "Uncle Joe" was also a loving great and great-great-uncle to many great-nieces, great-nephews, their families and children, who brought him tremendous joy. Trusted friend of Michael DeLeo, whose companionship Joe cherished. Joseph was predeceased by his dear sister, Mary "Betty" Goulet, her husband, Robert Goulet, his beloved brother, Jack Doherty and adored great-niece, Megan Durand. Joe's gentle demeanor, genuine kindness, and infectious humor brought happiness and smiles to those around him, and his unwavering trust in God guided his life with faith and purpose—he will be deeply missed.
