John-Damien Francis Diamond, of Cambridge, formerly of Winthrop, passed away in Cambridge at the age of 45. Born on May 4, 1980, John was the cherished son of Melanie and John "Jack" Diamond of Winthrop, MA.
A devoted husband, John is survived by his beloved wife of 11 years, April Diamond. He was the proud and loving father of Lucy and Jack Diamond, whom he adored beyond measure. John’s life was centered around his family and his deep love for them was evident in all that he did.
John was the dear brother of Danielle Flanagan and her husband Sean of Peabody, the brother-in-law of Robert Goodwin and his wife Amy of Cambridge and Ashley Goodwin also of Cambridge. He was the loving son-in-law of Robert and Bonnie Goodwin of Cambridge and beloved uncle of Dylan, Sarah and Harper.
A respected and skilled craftsman, John was the proud owner and operator of John F. Diamond Builders Inc. for 15 years. His work was a testament to his dedication, talent, and integrity. John had a deep love for Boston sports, especially the New England Patriots. He found peace and purpose at the gym, and he cherished time spent with family and close friends. A highlight of his recent years was serving as the beloved Assistant Coach of the 2024 and 2025 Cambridge Girls Softball Champions, the Ruby Reds. A role he held with pride and joy.
John was a kind, generous, and remarkable man who brought laughter, strength, and warmth to those lucky enough to know him. His presence will be deeply missed by all who loved him. Visiting hours in the Brown & Hickey Funeral Home 36 Trapelo Road Belmont on Wednesday June 25th from 10:00 - 12:00 noon. Followed by a funeral home service at 12:00 noon. Relatives and friends invited. Interment private.
