Jean M. (Almond) Tellier

Jean M. (Almond) Tellier, 89, of Belmont and Bourne, MA, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2024. Beloved wife of the late Joseph G. Tellier (known to many as Captain Joe). Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Gladys Almond. Jean was raised in Belmont and attended St. Peter’s School in Cambridge and then Matignon High School also in Cambridge, where she met many life- long friends. Jean earned her Bachelor’s degree from Framingham State University in 1956 and went on to teach Home Economics and then Pre-School for many years until settling into motherhood. Loving mother of Michele M. Britt and her husband Jonathan of Belmont, and Joseph Scott Tellier and his wife Kerri of Falmouth.  Devoted Nana to Caitlyn, Declan and Kiernan Tellier. Sister of Walter L. Almond of Bolton (formerly of Belmont), and the late Paul A. Almond of Bourne, the late Janet T. Dever of Woburn, the late David J. Almond of Burlington and the late Paul E. McHugh of Arlington. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Jean loved her family and friends and enjoyed a good laugh.  She loved to read and play golf with her husband Joe, where they belonged to The Woodland Golf Club for 58 years. They travelled often and especially enjoyed their time in Florida with their friends and summers on the Cape. Jean lit up a room where ever she went, she will be dearly missed by many. 

Visitation will be held in the Brown & Hickey Funeral Home, 36 Trapelo Rd., Belmont, on Friday morning March 8th from 9:00 - 10:00 AM followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church 130 Common St., Belmont, at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Interment will follow in the Belmont Cemetery, Belmont.
