Jacqueline A. Normile, “Jackie” (October 17, 1952-December 24, 2021) of Dover NH, formerly of Belmont Massachusetts.
Jackie was the eldest child of John and Muriel Normile and the loving sister of Michael Normile and his wife Mary of SD, Kathy Colitti and her husband Chris of NH, Tim Normile of TX, Maureen Bennett and her husband Jay of Belmont, Debbie Normile of NH, Christine Lessard and her husband Bob of NH, Daniel Normile of Fitchburg, Patrick Normile and his wife Theresa of Watertown, and her sister-in-law Donna Normile of FL. She was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Dennis and Kevin, her nephew Brian Normile and niece Susan Normile. She was the proud aunt of many nieces and nephews: Joseph, Melissa, Meghan, Caitlin, Preston, Kelsey, Brendan, Brianna, Mariah, Anthony, Ryan, Tyler, Kristina, Kevin, Hannah and Jake. The great aunt to Ethan, Austin, Owen, Tristan, Bryan and Eryanne. She also leaves behind many near and dear friends.
Jackie spent her life serving others, first as the oldest sister of 10 younger siblings then as an EMT and finally as a nurse. She graduated from St. Peter’s High School in 1970. After graduation she moved on to being a clerk at Children’s Hospital. Children’s sparked her interest in helping others. She earned her EMT certification and became the first female EMT/dispatcher with the Belmont Police Department. She continued her schooling, earned her nursing degree from STCC and for many years was a night shift ER nurse in several metro Boston hospitals. Jackie moved to NH where she continued her education and began teaching others whether it was basic CPR up through ENPC. She loved sharing her passion and skills with others. Jackie left the hospital environment to start her adventure as a visiting nurse serving homebound patients and then began working as a traveling nurse which allowed her to see new areas and serve those in need.
In her free time, Jackie loved spending time with her family and siblings as well as cheering on and photographing her many nieces and nephews at sporting venues throughout New England, at birthday parties, weddings, and graduation celebrations. Jackie had a passion for day tripping and photography. She was often known to hop in the car with a full tank of gas, a Dunkin coffee in hand and her trusty camera to capture the optimal photo of a sunrise, sunset, lighthouse or a Maine schooner. She was fiercely independent, adventurous, and loved traveling along the coast. She spent many summers at her favorite spots in Camden, Rockland and Boothbay, Maine, sailing as part of the crew on historic three masted schooners. Jackie sailed on 44 trips starting in 1991. She took the trip of her lifetime with a good friend to Ireland and always talked about returning some day.
Jackie was always on the go, despite her cancer diagnosis in 2010, she never let it slow her down! She faced the challenge head on with grace, dignity and incredible strength. She had the biggest heart and was very creative. She designed and created her Naked Noggin Covers for other cancer patients. She learned from personal experience the need for head coverings and lovingly made and sewed them, donating them to cancer centers in NH. She was always finding ways to give back and pay it forward. She never missed the opportunity to celebrate others whether it be birthdays, anniversaries or accomplishments.
