Irene (Turner) Woodbury

Irene (Turner) Woodbury of South Yarmouth formerly of Belmont, age 78, died Tuesday March 7, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.  Born in Cumberland, RI on February 12th, 1945, to the late Willard and Irene Turner.  Beloved mother, wife, friend and baker, Irene was married to the late Dale T. Woodbury for 45 years.  She is survived by her three children, Kimberly, of Chelmsford, Todd and his wife Jeanne of Billerica and Ross and his family of Needham.  She enjoyed her retirement years on Cape Cod with Dale, where she was active in the local library association acting as assistant treasurer and South Yarmouth Cookie Stroll committee member. Irene was an accomplished knitter and used those skills to donate her knitted items to charities.  One of her favorite summertime activities included giving tours at the Judah Baker Windmill.  Her hobbies included playing the piano, spending time with her friends and family, reading and gardening.  Irene's roses were well admired in her neighborhood.  We will miss her smile, laughter, kindness, and generosity. Services will be private, and donations in her name can be made to the South Yarmouth Library Association, PO Box 630, South Yarmouth, MA 02664.
