Harriett Learson Obituary

Harriett A. Learson of Belmont passed away peacefully on February 25, 2025. She was the beloved wife of Harold Learson and a devoted mother to Heidi White and her husband James of Hudson, NH. A proud and adoring grandmother, she cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, AJ White and Allie White. Harriett will be deeply missed by her extended family and many dear friends.

Harriett found joy in traveling, gardening, thrift shopping, and singing, but her greatest happiness came from watching her grandchildren grow. She was an active member of the Belmont Senior Center Choral Group and took great pride in serving lunches at the center, always offering a warm smile and conversation to those around her.

A dedicated supporter of the U.S. Navy, Harriett served as Vice President of the Navy League of the Massachusetts Bay Council, traveling the country to represent the Boston Council. She enjoyed supporting the Naval Sea Cadet Corps and played a key role in organizing numerous ship commissionings and naval celebrations in the Boston area alongside her husband, Harold, a retired Navy Captain.
