Elizabeth A. (Comeau) Kadehjian, age 83, of Belmont, passed away peacefully at her home on
Monday, December 4, 2023.
Elizabeth (Betsy) was born on July 24, 1940, in Newton, to the late Clifford and Elizabeth
(Sullivan) Comeau.
She was a 1958 graduate of Belmont High and was a proud alumna of Regis College.
Betsy was a member of St. Luke’s Parish and an active volunteer. She taught religious
education and was a member of the prayer shawl ministry knitting group. Additionally, she
assisted non-English speakers to learn the language at the Belmont Senior Center.
Betsy married her loving husband, Arthur J. Kadehjian on April 24, 1966, at St. Joseph’s
Church. Together they raised four children and were active in the Belmont sports community.
Betsy was a “hockey mom.”
Betsy is survived by her husband, Artie; her children, Suzanne Walker and her husband David
of Lynnfield; Amy Spear and her husband Ralph of Eliot, ME; Mark Kadehjian of Watertown; and
Brian Kadehjian and his wife Emily of Dedham; her four grandchildren, Jack and Margaret
Spear and Matthew and Max Kadehjian; a brother-in-law, Daniel Brogie; as well as numerous
nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Barbara Brogie.
Betsy was an avid reader, loved knitting, gardening, and arranging flowers. She was proud of
her French-Canadian roots and enjoyed a trip to Nova Scotia. She relished spending time with
her family and friends in Pocasset and, later, at their summer home in Georgetown, ME. She
was a beloved Grammy who treasured her grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held at St. Luke’s Church, 132 Lexington St., Belmont on December 12 th
from 9:00 - 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are
invited.
