Edna D. Powers

Edna Dorothy Powers, age 98, of Cambridge Massachusetts, died peacefully at the Neville Center at Fresh Pond on January 26, 2023. Edna was born on May 28, 1924, to John Henry Powers and Mary Agnes McCabe. She lived her entire life in Cambridge and was a long-time member of St. Peter’s Parish. Edna worked and retired from Raytheon for 43 years and after a several years of retirement worked for the Harvard University athletic department for another 26 years till the age of 93. Edna had a great passion for travel with her close friends. She had a quick mind and sense of humor but most of all she loved her family and friends. Edna’s expansive love and compassion also extended to her numerous pet dogs and cats. She is survived by her nephew James (Jay) Connor and his wife Carol of Amherst NH, nephew Paul Connor and his wife Filomena of Southborough, niece Jean Connor of Cambridge, and many grand and great grand nieces and nephews. Edna was predeceased by her beloved sister Barbara and her husband James (Jimmy) Connor as well as her brother Arthur Powers. The family is grateful to The Neville Center at Fresh Pond for the loving care she received while at the center. 

Visitation will be held in St. Peter Parish 100 Concord Ave. Cambridge, on Saturday morning Feb 4th from 9:00 - 10:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Animal Rescue League of Boston in memory of Edna https://www.arlboston.org/.
