David L. Mullin

Mullin, David L. Age 79, of Acton MA, formerly from Belmont, MA, passed away July 28th at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA after a long battle with dementia, Dave died of a heart attack.   Dave grew up in Belmont and attended Belmont High School where he was the goalie on the school’s hockey team.  He went on to Northeastern University where he played both hockey and baseball and was a member of Phi Sigma Kappa.  After graduating from NU, he began his professional sales and marketing career at Union Carbide in Syracuse, NY.  Later transferred to Chicago, where he met and fell in love with his beloved wife, Jana K. Alexander, who at the time was a stewardess for United Air Lines.  They married in 1969 and moved back to the Boston area, and located in Acton, where they lived for fifty years.  Dave held a number of senior level positions in his professional career that took him to many parts of the world.  In the later part of Dave’s business career he was a much sought out management consultant who specialized in business development and organizational expansion projects.  Golf was a passion for Dave as he was first a member of Oakley Country Club in Watertown, and later he became a member of Nashawtuc Country Club in Concord for over forty years.  While at Nashawtic he was a member of the Club’s charitable efforts, “Nashawtuc Charities” where significant monies were initially raised by hosting Nashawtuc’s long term involved with the PGA Senior’s golf tour, hosting one of the more successful and popular PGA Senior Tournament’s annual events.  Much of the proceeds from these yearly tournaments were directed to nearby Emerson Hospital for Cancer Research and Development,  which provided Dave with much pride and satisfaction.  Dave was predeceased in death by his loving wife Jana.  He leaves behind three brothers, Donald B. Mullin of Epping, NH, Richard K. Mullin of Burlington, MA, and Robert M. Mullin and his wife Catherine J. Mullin of Acton, MA.  In addition he leaves behind many dear friends and loving nephews and nieces including, Robert M. Mullin III, of Acton, MA, David W. Mullin of Lowell, MA, Garrett B. Mullin of West Haven, CT, Donald B. Mullin of Derry, NH, Tracy M. Archambault of Epping, NH, and Robin M. Teuber of Salem, NH and the late Lisa M. Logan of Salem, NH.  A celebration of his life will be held at the Nashawtuc Country Club, 1861 Sudbury Road, Concord, MA 01742 on Tuesday, August 3rd at 11:00AM.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the regional Alzheimer Association located in Waltham, MA 02452.
