Brian Collins Obituary

Brian F. Collins, of Bedford, Massachusetts passed away due to a long illness on Saturday, October 16th at the age of 64. Brian was born on May 29th, 1957 and raised in Lexington, Massachusetts and is the son to the late John F. Collins of North Conway, New Hampshire and is survived by his mother Jeanne R. Campbell of Jacksonville, Florida. 

When in high school, Brian won the globe scholastic gold key award for a landscape watercolor painting in 1975. Following graduation from Lexington High School, Brian attended Boston Architectural College and pursued a career in construction. Later his company New England Floor and Partition focused on ornamental plaster and completed important projects such as the rotunda at Quincy Market the concourse ceilings at 185 Franklin and won an excellence award for his work the Harvard Club located on Commonwealth Avenue. 

 Family was always important to Brian he valued time spent at family gatherings, especially at holidays. He enjoyed all Boston sports, and spending time at the coast restoring boats and cruising on the ocean. Brian was a humble and hardworking man, a man of integrity who took pride in everything he did.

Brian is survived by his mother; and his brother, David Collins and his wife Jessica Stebbins, his nephew Alex Collins, Salem Ma and his sister Marilynne DeCruccio, her husband Scott DeCruccio and his niece Caroline DeCruccio. He also leaves behind his life companion Karen Packard of Burlington, Massachusetts. 

He will be deeply missed by his family, his dear friends and all who knew him.


Visiting hours for Brian will take place on Monday, November 1st, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Brown and Hickey Funeral Home, 36 Trapelo Road, Belmont Mass.

A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, November 2nd, at 10:30 a.m., at the Immaculate Conception Church – Mary Queen of the Apostles Parish, on 15 Hawthorne Blvd, Salem Massachusetts. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

Interment will be private and scheduled for a later date.
