Barbara J Dillon

Barbara J. Dillon, age 92, a lifelong resident of Belmont, Mass. passed away on Aug 26, 2022 with her family by her side. Born in Boston on March 11, 1930, the daughter of the late Francis and Mary Dillon. Barbara was the sister of Marie Canane of Athens, GA., the late Eleanor Dillon, and the late Joan Kelleher.  

Barbara attended the Belmont Public Schools until grade six and thereafter was a student at Mount Trinity Academy in Watertown, Mass. before earning her BA from Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, CT.  After that she pursued her MA at Boston University School of Education. Barbara taught school in Boston, first at the Prince District and then at Boston Latin Academy. Her love of music was preeminent in her life. She studied piano and sang in a number of choirs. Finally, and most satisfying as part of the St. Agnes Choir in Arlington Mass. 

Barbara is survived by many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held at St. Joseph Church, 128 Common Street, Belmont, Mass. on Thursday, September 1 from 9:30-10:30 AM followed by a funeral mass at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment Belmont Cemetery, Belmont.
