Angelo W. “Bill” Traniello, Sr., 84, of Belmont and Falmouth, passed away on November 6, 2024 surrounded by his family after a long illness. Bill was born in Boston and attended Mt. Alvernia Academy, Roxbury Latin and Huntington Prep before earning his undergraduate degree from Babson College.
Bill was an artist, a visionary and lover of any project he could really dig into, from cooking to gardening to home renovation, any chance to bring out some tools or cooking supplies and share the experience with his family and enjoyed seeing the benefits of hard work come to fruition. Mostly, he loved his wife, Sally, his best friend for 56 years, with whom he created his adult life. Bill and Sally supported each other through everything, until his last breath.
Bill’s passions were his family, car design, listening to music, and anything nautical. He also enjoyed deep conversation with good friends and family over beverages from coffee to a good Italian red wine or a well-crafted cocktail. He created many memories on trips to Cape Cod including rides to the beach and finding prime viewing spots to watch fireworks. His grandchildren brought him immense joy and laughter.
Bill leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Sarah "Sally" (Deignan) Traniello, and children: Sarah, Laura Powell (Brian), Angelo W. Jr. (Kimberley), Paul (Vasiliki Hinoporos), Maura, Brian (Kristin), and grandchildren: Angelina, Elise, Mallory, Madeline, Sean and James.
Bill will also be greatly missed by his lifelong friend, Michael Hueston, cousin Douglas Wade and his wife Jan, brother-in-law, Frederic Deignan, Sr., Mary (Nyhan) Deignan and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Angelo and Frances (Scipione) Traniello, his mother and father-in-law, Sarah (Skahan) and Joseph Deignan, his sister, Frances (Philip) Coyne, his in-laws, Joseph Jr. and Marie (McGeary) Deignan, Edward and Ann (Gallagher) Deignan, Robert Deignan and Mary (Duffy) Deignan.
