Amy Eve Epstein, 69, of Cambridge, Massachusetts, a social and sensitive person, died August 17, 2024. She was found unconscious and unresponsive in her room at Sancta Maria Nursing facility and was unable to be revived despite all the measures taken.
Among her many roles were: dear daughter of Ellen Cory Epstein and Henry Epstein, sister of Daniel Epstein and Rachel Epstein Kogan, sister in law to siblings spouses Daria Keynan and Gary Kogan; Aunt to Quan Kogan! Niece to Susan Leeman, Cousin to Eve Leeman, Rafe Leeman, Jennifer Leeman, Robert Cory, Leslie Cory, Lucy Kostelanetz
Shortly after graduating from Brandeis University with a degree in American Studies she was diagnosed with major psychiatric issues which tremendously impacted her life course. While she never had children or married she did make friends and acquaintances wherever she went. Although a reluctant artist from a young age she mastered many types of media and was always trying to create paintings, drawings, sculptures, clothing and jewelry when she could. A very generous person she was always sending out cards, organizing parties, thinking of gifts for others even though her own resources were often very limited. She experienced great pleasure in cooking and eating good food, meeting with friends and family, playing her guitar and listening to other music. Despite all of her issues she was always trying to look for something positive to do. For instance painting the nails of other nursing home residents and organizing crafts groups. A real life force. She will be missed. In lieu of flowers or other gifts please consider giving to any of these organizations!
