Alfred Anthony Allardi, 89, of Belmont, MA passed away peacefully at his home on May 23rd, 2024. Alfred was born on November 29,1934 in Boston, Massachusetts. He grew up in Mission Hill with his parents, Mary and Alfred, and spent his free time playing basketball and baseball with his neighborhood pals. Al was proud of his Mission Hill roots and cherished the lifelong friendships he built there. As an adult, he developed a passion for tennis and could often be found playing at the Belmont Tennis Club and anywhere there was an open court on Cape Cod. Al was a hard worker throughout his life, from his early days at the 5 and 10 where he met his beautiful wife Ann, to putting himself through college and earning a degree from Northeastern University. Eventually he opened his own insurance agency where he worked until retirement. Despite his notable career, if you asked Al what his greatest achievement in life was, he wouldn’t hesitate to tell you it was his family. He was devoted to his wife Ann and to raising his boys to be “good humans.” Of course, with four teenage boys and all of their shenanigans, this was no easy task! Eastham Cape Cod held a special place in Al’s heart. In 1972 Al bought a house there and spent the better part of a decade with Ann and his boys by his side framing the inside, building decks and creating a home. Weekends brought the family together and provided some of the happiest times of his life, inspiring a never-ending love for “the Cape.” Once the grandchildren arrived, Al became known simply as “Papa”. Nothing brought him more joy than an afternoon on the deck with the grandkids. Alfred is survived by his wife of sixty-one years Ann Allardi (Galvin) of Belmont; his children, Kevin Allardi (Lisa) of Roanoke, VA., Michael Allardi (Michelle) of Reading, MA, Thomas Allardi (Kelley) of Andover, MA and Steven Allardi (Ingrid) of Wrentham, MA, his grandchildren Nicholas, Morgan, Abigail, Emily, Thomas, Mckenna, Campbell, Patrick, Alexander and Isabel. Al’s family wishes to thank Brenda Morris from Boston Caregivers Home Health Agency for helping to make Al’s final years as comfortable and peaceful as possible. Al will be dearly missed by his family and the many friends he leaves behind.
