Toula Costas

Toula Costas of Belmont knew that when her beloved husband, Paul died on November 27, 1991, that someday they would be reunited again. That day came for Toula on November 18, 2017 in Belmont. She died peacefully amidst the love and presence of her family. She was 86. While there is sadness in her passing there is tremendous comfort in knowing they have been reunited once again. Toula Davos was born September 24, 1931 in Sparta, Greece the daughter of the late Peter and Fotoni Davos recently of Toronto, Canada. She was one of six children. Raised in Greece and educated in fashion in Europe, she emigrated to Canada and worked to have her remaining family join her there. She met her future husband Paul Costas of Scranton, PA in late 1955 and was married in August 1956 in Scranton in the Greek Orthodox church. After moving to Hazleton, PA in 1961 to open their first restaurant, they later moved to Belmont in 1971 where they have resided ever since. Toula worked for several small businesses in Belmont and Watertown; then with her husband when they opened their restaurant The Eliot Café in Boston; and then joining C&K Components where she quickly became a production supervisor. After retiring, she focused her attention on her family, her cooking and her flowers. She also loved her Boston Bruins. She is survived by her loving children, Thomas Costas and his wife Sheryl, and by Peter Costas and his wife Candy; her sisters Kay Brown and Spiro Salavantis; and her brothers Harry and Nick Davos; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Family and friends will gather to remember Toula for calling hours from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 21, at the Brown & Hickey Funeral Home at 36 Trapelo Road in Belmont. Her funeral service will be at the Brown & Hickey Funeral Home on Wednesday starting 10:00 AM. The burial will follow at St Patrick's Cemetery located at 999 Belmont Street in Watertown, MA.
