Mary "Ginny" V. (Moran) McCabe

Mary "Ginny" V. McCabe of Cambridge,died in Waltham on Sept.30,2018 after a brief illness.  Beloved wife of the late William J. McCabe, Jr. (Cambridge Fire Dept.).  Loving mother of Joseph and his wife Jeannie and William J. McCabe, III and his wife Deborah.  Cherished "Nanny" to her four grandchildren: Joseph Jr. and his wife Janet Lamb, Brian and his wife Elizabeth Hegarty, Jennifer and her husband Tyler Hathaway and Meghan and her husband Matthew McKillop.  Also survived by three great grandchildren: Jack, James and Kathleen. 

Ginny spent many years as the cafeteria director/cook at Saint Peter's Grammar School in Cambridge and later she served as the menu planner/cook in the faculty cafeteria at Shady Hill School in Cambridge.  Ginny loved life, the Red Sox, the Bruins, BC High and Matignon ice hockey teams, but most of all, she loved the time spent with her family at holiday gatherings, athletic events or being together for no special reason; she will be missed by all.

Funeral from the Brown & Hickey Funeral Home 36 Trapelo Rd. Belmont Thursday, Oct.11 at 9AM.  Funeral mass in St. Peter's Church 100 Concord Ave. Cambridge at 10AM.  Relatives and friends kindly invited.  Visiting hours Wednesday 3-7PM.  Interment Cambridge Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers please send donations in Ginny's memory to The Jimmy Fund 10 Brookline Place West, 6th floor  Brookline, MA. 02445 or to St. Peter's Bishop Riley Memorial Fund at the above address.
