Louise A. Pfeiffer most recently a resident of Belmont, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 6, 2018 at 1:30 in the afternoon. Louise was born on the fourth of July, 1920 to Robert Henry Pfeiffer and Matilda Valenti Pfeiffer. She attended Schools in the Cambridge area and then matriculated at Vassar College. Upon graduation in 1942, she responded to the wartime concerns in this country by working for the Central Intelligence Agency. In the family, we teased Louise by asking if we could witness her karate expertise but she claimed to have been a "pencil pusher." She was an avid skier and spent many winter weekends in Maine skiing with her extended faimily at Sugarloaf. She also loved to spend time at her beloved Nantucket Island especially at "Maids' Beach." Her love of travel took her to far flung corners of the world but Italy was her most frequent destination. She and her mother oversaw the restoration of an historic olive orchard and farm, called la Chipraseena, in Florence, and it is now on Italy's historic site listing. Louise will be missed by family and friends alike for her sardonic wit and her strong character. She will be buried at a private family plot in Mt. Auburn Cemetery at a spring date as yet undetermined.
