There is one less angel among us. Lee Lovelace Lee (Cushman) of Andover, MA, left us on Wednesday, December 19, 2018. Born on March 6, 1948, she was the third child of Gardner and Mary Wyatt Scott Cushman, born to give back to everyone she met on her life’s journey. Her heart was at its very happiest when she was helping others. Friends, colleagues, strangers, animals, and her treasured extensive family found that she was there to love and support them whenever there was a need. She would sew on your button, heal your heart, care for you when you were sick, and stay with you when you had a new baby. In her work life, she reached out to people beyond her “job description”. While helping her mother downsize and move, she discovered a talent for and a deep satisfaction in assisting seniors with many aspects of their lives. Later, as a volunteer, she combined her profound love of horses with her caring heart and helped many with therapy at Ironstone Farm.
Surviving her are her husband of 43 years, David Allen Lee; her sons, David Alexander Lee (Corey) of Richmond, VA, and Nicholas Lee of Santa Barbara, CA.; sister Nancy Fairbanks of Saratoga Springs, NY, and brothers Scott Cushman (Judy) of Marietta, GA and Robert Cushman (Faith) of Lotus, CA. She also leaves nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews all of whom will forever remember the remarkable love from Aunt Lee. A Celebration of Her Life will be held in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, Lee and her family ask that memorial contributions be sent in her name to: Lahey Health at Home, Hospice, 800 W Cummings Park, Suite 5000, Woburn, MA 01801.
