I am so sorry to hear the news and sorry I didn't know in time to attend the services. I love Dr. Corcoran! I was a student at Vinson-Owen school and have nothing but the fondest and happiest memories of my childhood. She was an exceptional person and educator. I remember she took me for a ride in her convertible, as a reward for reading over the summer. She made every student feel special. We are very lucky to have had her in our lives, especially as children.
Peace be with you.

I knew Clare from St.. Joseph's and town politics. She was wonderful. She was so sharp about everything that I just loved talking to her. She loved my husband and they enjoyed talking BC and Army football. She was a force and I'm glad that she was always on my side. A rare gem who will be missed.

I was at Vinson Owen in the late 60s and loved Dr. Corcoran. I remember her smile and how, when she talked to you, you knew she was giving you her 100% attention and you felt like your conversation was the most important thing she had to do that day. She had an amazing way of remembering students and family connections. Even after decades, she knew me by name as well as my mom and sister. She was just so smart, so dedicated. Without realizing at the time, I was watching a to female pioneer - what a role model. But mostly, I just remember the love and energy she had for what she did and all of us kids.

Very sad to hear of Dr Corcoran's passing. I was a student at Vinson-Owen in the early 70’s. I saw her a couple of times in the last few years and she recognized me as “one of her kids”. Yes, I got into mischief and had to sign her dreaded Black Book! She promised me and my friend Lisa ice cream sundaes at Dairy Maid if we swore we won’t fight for the rest of the school year and she kept that promise! She was a very special lady, I will never forget her, may she rest with the angels.
