Abby Scott Baker Burden passed away at the age of 93 on January 25, 2018 in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. She lived a life full of loving, giving and being thankful. Formerly of Needham, Boston and Wenham Massachusetts, Abby was the beloved wife of the late George E Burden and the loving mother of James of West Cranston RI, Douglas of Swampscott MA, Elizabeth (Perry) of Saunderstown RI and George of Lunenburg MA. She was also the loving grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Abby graduated from Wheelock College and Boston University with teaching degrees before teaching at nursery schools in NY, MA and CO. She loved to volunteer and did so at Mass General Hospital, Trinity Church in Boston, Rosie’s Place, Neighborhood Action as well as Girl Scouts, garden clubs and her children’s schools for many years. Abby cared very deeply for her children, friends and acquaintances. She was positive, happy, warm, energetic and caring with a subtle sense of humor. Abby touched the hearts of many people through her caring gestures, kind heart and gentle sense of humor. She loved life and smiled often.
