Susan Iamonico Starbuck passed away at the age of 67 on March 5, 2017 in Boston, MA after a brief illness. She was born and raised in Tuckahoe, NY and attended Maria Regina High School. She later worked as an accountant at Bonwit Teller and General Foods. After marrying Robert Starbuck in 1976, she moved to South Salem, NY where she dedicated her life to raising her three children and pursued her interests in landscaping and birding. In her final years, she lived in Cambridge, MA to be closer to her children and grandchildren whom she adored. She spent as much time as possible at her house in Siasconset, MA on Nantucket Island, which was her favorite place on earth. She had a strong and vibrant personality, was loved by everyone who met her, and will be missed dearly.
Susan is survived by her husband, Robert Starbuck of Cambridge, MA and Siasconset, MA; her children Katie Starbuck and her husband Josh Bittker of Cambridge, MA, Kimberly Starbuck of Cambridge, MA, and Ryan Starbuck of Denver, CO; her mother, Mary Margaret Iamonico of Tuckahoe, NY her brothers Robert Iamonico of Hartsdale, NY and Joseph Iamonico of Tuckahoe, NY; as well as four grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Robert Tito Iamonico.
A celebration of Susan's life will be held on August 26th on Nantucket. Donations in her memory can be made to the Nantucket Conservation Foundation.
